Android 14: What to Expect
Android 14 is dubbed “Upside Down Cake“. These are some of the Android 14 features discovered so far:
Improved Battery Life: Over the years, Google has improved battery management on Android, and there’s still a lot of room for improvement. The foreground services in Android 14 are reserved for the highest-priority user-facing tasks. The background tasks are getting optimized in the upcoming Android release for improved battery life.
Say Goodbye to Super Old Apps: Android 14 blocks installation of super old apps, specifically those built for Android 5.1 or older. This is because malware often targets older API levels.
New Customizations: Android is all about customizations, and the latest release improvises on it by bringing more customizations. It includes the ability to make fonts larger and support gendered languages such as French and German.
This is not the complete list of changes in Android 14 as it’s currently going through the development phase. And, Google always has some exciting features to announce at the Google I/O event.
