Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout is picking up serious pace. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ have started receiving the update in South Korea, adding two more devices to the growing list of Galaxy hardware making the jump to One UI 8.5.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE is shipping the update under firmware version X510XXUCEZE4, while the Tab S9 FE+ is on X610XXUCEZE4. The download weighs in at roughly 3GB and comes bundled with the May 2026 security patch. As expected with a major version jump, the update brings a significant number of new and improved features to both tablets.

Samsung hasn’t specified an exact timeline for the international rollout, but if past One UI updates are any indication, other regions should start seeing it within the next few days. Users in South Korea can already go to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install to grab it now.

For those keeping track of where these tablets have been software-wise, they launched with Android 13-based One UI 5.1. Since then, they’ve made their way through One UI 6.1 in early 2024, One UI 6.1.1 later that year, One UI 7.0 in mid-2025, and One UI 8.0 toward the end of 2025. One UI 8.5 is the latest milestone in that journey. If you want to know whether your other Galaxy devices are in line for the same update, this list of One UI 8.5 eligible devices is worth a look.

Samsung has been pushing One UI 8.5 to a broad range of devices lately, and the Tab S9 FE series getting it this early in the wider rollout is a good sign for owners of older Galaxy tablets still waiting. We’ll keep you updated as the update expands to more regions.
