After a lengthy beta phase, Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update to the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
The rollout is currently limited to South Korea, where devices are receiving the update under build number CZDP. A broader international rollout should follow in the coming days, as is typical with Samsung’s staged releases.

What makes this release stand out is just how long it took to get here. Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta program kicked off back in December 2025, and over the next five months, the company pushed out ten separate beta builds before finally wrapping things up. That’s well above the four or five betas Samsung usually releases before going stable, which typically happens within two to three months. Whether that extra time translated into a noticeably polished experience is something users will find out soon enough.
One UI 8.5 is built on Android 16 QPR2, so it’s not just a minor update. The software brings a redesigned interface that Samsung describes as cleaner and more refined, along with expanded customization options and a range of new features. We’ll have a more detailed breakdown of everything that’s changed once the update is more widely available.
For now, if you’re in South Korea and using a Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra, you can check for the update under Settings > Software update. Everyone else should be seeing it roll out over the next few days, though Samsung hasn’t confirmed an exact timeline for the wider release. If you’re curious whether your other Galaxy devices will eventually get One UI 8.5, here’s a list of eligible Samsung devices.
