Track One UI 6.1 update for your Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, or Galaxy S23 Ultra with this continuously updating tracker. Here, I will share the latest news about the One UI 6.1 update for your Samsung Galaxy.

What Makes One UI 6.1 Special

One UI 6.1 doesn’t bring new interface elements or new settings, so you’re going to see no changes until you start exploring the new AI features. The brand has announced a lot of AI features, including the ability to circle the item to search, convert any video to slow-mo, wallpaper generation, AI photo editing/enhancement tools, live translation during a phone call, and more.

The sad thing here is that not all AI features from the S24 series are coming to the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung hasn’t revealed which of those will be missing.

Galaxy S23 Software Update Policy

Samsung released the Galaxy S23 series last year with Android 13 out of the box. And it has already rolled out the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update to the S23 phones.

According to Samsung’s software update policy, the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra will get a total of four major OS updates. The first one has already arrived in the form of Android 14, and hence, they’ll get three more OS updates. However, ahead of the Android 15 update, Samsung will bring the One UI 6.1 update, which will be based on Android 14.

[April 3, 2024]: Along with Galaxy AI and other new features, One UI 6.1 also brings a series of bugs. Recently, we heard complaints about slow charging and heating issues. As if these weren’t enough, users are now facing issues with the fingerprint scanner.

As per the multiple complaints posted on Samsung Community and Reddit, the Galaxy S23 does not show the animation for fingerprint recognition. The device doesn’t do anything if the user touch the screen. Once the user lift the finger, the fingerprint animation becomes visible, and then they can place the finger again on the screen to unlock the device.

The bug hasn’t only affected the lock screen, but the touchscreen in general. Many users have complained that they have to tap several times on the screen before it registers. Sometimes, the touchscreen doesn’t work at all. This is a serious bug that Samsung needs to address very quickly.

Samsung is already aware of the touchscreen problem. According to a Samsung Community moderator, the issue is because of incompatibilities with the Discover feature of Google app. The concerned team at Google is already working on it, though we don’t have an ETA.

If you’re also affected by the touchscreen problem, update the Google app, clear the app data, and restart your device. It’s a temporary fix to regain access to your touchscreen.

  1. shame on samsung, until now still not release one ui 6.1. how many months already after s24 released.
somemore the AOD wallpaper feature also not bring to s23 ultra…
always focus on the brand-new release phone and abandoned old model and delay the release.
this is last using samsung phone.

  2. i don’t like this one ui 6.1 update… in the past, i was excited on the one ui update, but this round, i am very disappointed. because most of the features do not bring to s23 series especially the AOD wallpaper feature. All the AI features are useless for me. spent so much money to buy the s23 ultra last year, but most features do not bring to the phone.
