[May 11, 2024]: One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 is now live in the US. It brings many Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Live Translate, Generative Edit, Notes Assist, Chat Assist, and more.
[May 10, 2024]: After Korea, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in Europe are now getting the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI features.

[May 2, 2024]: The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 phones are now picking up the One UI 6.1 update with exciting Galaxy AI features. The update lands in South Korea with a download size of around 2.7GB. It will expand to more regions over the next few days and weeks.

[March 30, 2024]: One UI 6.1 update could soon come to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.
A Canadian network carrier, Rogers, has revealed its OS update, which reveals that a new update will be released to these devices on April 10. The page mentions that the update includes the March 2024 security patch, but it’s also likely to bring One UI 6.1.
[March 27, 2024]: Samsung begins rolling out the One UI 6.1 update, starting with the Galaxy S23. Hopefully, it will come to the Fold 4 and Flip 4 by next month.
[March 13, 2024]: Samsung delivers a new software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 users in the US. It’s a minor update that brings the March 2024 security patch to resolve dozens of vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. The update is rolling out to both locked and unlocked models of the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
[March 12, 2024]: The Galaxy Z Fold 4 users grab the March 2024 security patch via the latest software update. It’s currently available in the US on AT&T and DISH network carriers.
[February 22, 2024]: Samsung has officially announced that the One UI 6.1 update will start rolling out in late March 2024. Sadly, this rollout timeline is for devices that are eligible for Galaxy AI, which includes the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
Samsung didn’t announce when the next One UI upgrade will be available for older devices that won’t get Galaxy AI, such as Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4.
[February 21, 2024]: Samsung expands the February 2024 security update to Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 users in India.
[February 19, 2024]: The February 2024 security update reaches Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in the US. Currently, it’s rolling out on the Verizon network and should expand to other carriers in the coming days.
[February 16, 2024]: The Galaxy Z Fold 4 users in Europe are getting the February 2024 security patch update. It’s rolling out with the firmware version F936BXXS5EXAB and has a download size of around 430MB.
[January 23, 2024]: A Samsung executive told Tech Radar, “For now, we’re limiting Galaxy AI to last-gen devices.” It means that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 won’t get Galaxy AI features – at least not anytime soon. However, the phones are still eligible for the One UI 6.1 update.
[January 18, 2024]: There’s bad news for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 owners. Samsung (via Android Authority) revealed the devices that will get the One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI features in H1 2024, and there was no mention of these devices.
So, either the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are not getting the AI features, or the update won’t arrive before June 2024. In any case, the devices will get the One UI 6.1 update. However, there is uncertainty regarding the AI features. I’ll keep you posted on further updates here.
[January 9, 2024]: The first One UI 6.1 test build of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 has been spotted on the server. It means Samsung is internally testing One UI 6.1 on these devices. These test builds are not available to the public.
The update is expected to roll out sometime in Q1 2024.
