[May 14, 2024]: One UI 6.1 is finally rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. The two mid-range tablets are getting the update in Korea.

The update is rolling out to both Wi-Fi and cellular variants of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+. As of now, the rollout is limited to Samsung’s home market Korea, but it won’t take more than a few days to expand to more and more regions.

[March 28, 2024]: Samsung is rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra. Hopefully, it will come to Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ early next month.

[February 22, 2024]: Samsung has released a timeline for the One UI 6.1 update for some Galaxy devices that will also get Galaxy AI features.

The company has confirmed that it will start rolling out the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI to Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Tab S9 series (including Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+) towards the end of March 2024.

Samsung has also revealed a list of Galaxy AI features that’ll come to older devices. It includes:

  • Circle to Search with Google
  • Generative Edit
  • Instant Slow-Mo
  • Interpreter
  • Live Translate
  • Note Assist

[February 16, 2024]: Verizon has released the February 2024 security update for Galaxy Tab S9 FE users in the US. The update is tagged with the firmware version X518USQS2BXA8.

[January 18, 2024]: The list of eligible devices for Galaxy AI is out, and it doesn’t include the Tab S9 FE models. However, it includes the regular Tab S9 series models – Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra.

The list also includes the S23 series, S23 FE, Fold 5, and Flip 5. This is the initial list of devices that will get Galaxy AI in H1 2024. Still, there’s some hope of Galaxy AI on the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ in the second half.

However, one thing for sure is that the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ will get One UI 6.1.

[January 17, 2024]: During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung announced that Galaxy AI will come to select premium devices. They didn’t reveal device names, though.

It remains to be seen if the Galaxy AI is also coming to Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+.

  1. If samsung is going to update the higher end phones and tablets, they should update the s9 fe tablets as well. I bought my s9 fe 256gb 10.9 tablet because I couldn’t afford the higher priced s9 brand. The s9 fe model isn’t much different than its higher priced counterpart. it’s all about money to them. come on Samsung don’t deprive those that purchase what they can afford or stay witha budget.

  2. The S9 FE is a Galaxy device and should get the same treatment as all current Galaxy devices. They are even putting it on last years S23 devices after all.

  3. Sobasically no support for a new tablet but old ones ok? even old phones are getting it. way to support your customers.
